I loved the fresh side dishes. The Mac& cheese is amazing so cheesy and the greens were delicious. My ribs tips were cooked to perfection (meaty) and the sauce was the right amount of sweet and spicy. I recommend getting it mixed. The service is a bit of a wait but well worth it so call ahead overall this place was a hit well worth it.

Best turkey tips on the South Side!!!! I live in Springfield and I made my daughter. Bring me a large turkey tip when she came to visit. That’s how much I love your turkey tips.

Exceptionally good service. A friend/ former coworker, currently going through cancer treatment wanted to specifically get barbecue from the Slab. Not only were they able to save by getting a larger tip order, the employee brought it out to the vehicle, no questions. Definitely deserved more than five stars, especially listening to the my passenger devouring as I was dropping them off.

I receive a great unexpected New Year's treat, it was a text from the slab for 20% off and I got a night off from cooking. The ribs and the hot link was fresh and delicious. Also the service was superb, I was placing my order and my phone connection was less than perfect but the order taker was very patient with me.

Slab’s food is good. The family that owns it works there and treats the customer like family. I love that they provide Pork alternatives because I don’t eat Pork. I love the Turkey tips and Turkey links. The 10 fried wings are good and cost about 15 which is much cheaper than Harold’s. The greens are cooked with smoked turkey and are very tasty and a favorite of mines. This is my neighborhood go to spot for take out.

Wow I am AMAZED truly blown away I had a really bad experience at uncle John’s this day and was sad but Slabs Bbq really turned it around for me ! Such a friendly and cool atomosphere , family owned and they made me feel apart of their family , the moment I walked in I was given samples of their baked beans , Mac and cheese as well as their greens and yams and wow the sample itself doesn’t do justice to how amazing the sides themself were now on to the Main course which was the ribs super meaty and tender great taste and the THEY DO NOT SKIMP the bag itself was almost 2-3 pounds !!!! Thank you guys for making me feel at home and giving my belly an amazing home cooked family style soul food meal ! LOVE YOU SLABS !!! I’ll definitely be returning 10/10 experience

Granted I had to let them know I would be making this review for my food to be 10/10 but it was amazing cut perfectly and cooked perfected sauce was great very satisfying
